1. The value range of the chip’s DAC output volume is 0–30. 30 is the maximum, which means that as long as the GY404C is powered off, its volume will be the maximum by default when it is powered on again. Or the GY404C is reset and the volume will return to the maximum.
2. According to the customer’s description, in this case, it is most likely that the motherboard has not been reset, but the GY404C is reset due to abnormal conditions, thus restoring the volume to level 30. Because at this time, the main MCU does not know whether the GY404C has been reset, so it feels the sound got bigger.
3. Why is it reset? This is divided into software and hardware for analysis;

In fact, except for a reset command, the probability of software being reset in other situations is very low, at least it has not been encountered so far.

Hardware, this is the most likely, please check it first.

For example: the 5-pin 3.3V capacitor of GY404C is placed incorrectly or is missing, especially when playing music, causing the voltage to be lowered and reset.

For example: it is possible that the power input voltage of pin 4 of GY404C is too low, causing a low voltage reset.
